It’s always very jarring to me to see these ads for luxury products portraying rich people in huge white suburban houses, who we as viewers should be identifying with. More so at Christmas. Who are these ads for?

You could say the target audience here are potential Lambo buyers, but I think this is just an image campaign, intended to promote the brand to a wider public. I dunno, I just think it’s weird to see all these ads (not just this one, but most of other christmas ads) when you know for a fact that this isn’t how most of the states live.

I’ve wondered that too, especially after seeing ads for companies like Lockheed Martin. But rich and powerful people are people too, and many of them also watch TV (or YouTube or wherever these ads are aired) like the rest of us. So if these companies can manage to reach whomever they need to convince to buy their next fighter jet or satellite then surely the ad campaign would have been worth it.
